Good Bye Boomers

I was speaking to members of a major utility and discovered that more than 50% of their executives will be retiring soon. Where is their knowledge going when they go out the door? Out with them. Can your company say the same thing?
I read a comprehensive article in Chief Learning Officer (James J. L’Allier, Ph.D. & Kenneth Kolosh) that will shed some light on the dilemma. “There are other variables at play that directly impact how organizations will be able to adapt to the changing demographic landscape. Some of the factors that organizations can control include retention of older workers, correcting gender imbalance in certain positions, the use of outsourcing and hiring newly arriving immigrants.”
Diversity at work again. Those that can align, inspire, engage, educate, and lead diverse members of the workforce will win. I enjoy being a coach and consultant to organizations with that commitment.
