The PowerNetworking Conference is the most comprehensive resource for connecting, training, developing, promoting and networking for African Americans in the country. The theme of this 6th Annual National PowerNetworking Conference was “It’s Time To Focus: Leveraging Our Global Resources For Building Wealth In The 21st Century.” “FraserNet Faculty shared their proven insights and renowned expertise as they taught effective networking techniques at the 2007PowerNetworking Conference in Atlanta. Through their collective wisdom, these scholars afforded our conference attendees an opportunity to build wealth, create jobs, advance their careers, and learn how to create multiple streams of income,” said George C. Fraser, Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc.
The thirty-plus workshops and panel discussions at the PowerNetworking Conference offered an education to those who attended and participated in the daily seminars and power plenary sessions. Les Brown’s Speakers Showcase, Dr. Robert Wallace, Dr. Joel Martin, and Dr. Cindy Trimm were featured at conference events. George Fraser, Founder of FraserNet and producer of the PowerNetworking Conference, delivered a “Turn Up The Heat,” keynote address, where Mayor Shirley Franklin welcomed conference attendees. Dr. Myles Munroe, Founder and President of Bahamas Faith Ministry, spoke to a standing room only audience.

A special facet of the PowerNetworking Conference was the Global Town Hall Meeting – “A Way Back Home: The Role of the Diasporian in the Re-Construction of Africa.” Headliners for this event included: Odeneho Gyapong Ababio, President, Ghana National House of Chiefs; Dr. Maulana Karenga, Professor, Department of Black Studies, California State University; Dr. Ron Daniels, President, Institute of the Black World; Nana Kwadwo Oluwale Akpan, Fihankrahene, Chief and Custodian of the Stool and Skin of Fihankra (Ghana); Dr. Gloria Herndon, Chairperson, American & African Business Women’s Alliance; Dr. Claire A. Nelson, President, Institute of Caribbean Studies; and Chief Tunde Adetunji, President & CEO, African Heritage Foundation. The moderator for the event was Melvin P. Foote, the CEO of Constituency for Africa.
The exhibitors at PowerNetworking, available for dialogue through the four-day conference, are corporate representatives, such as Effenus Henderson Weyerhaeuser (photo right) who presented at the conference and whose company was one of the conference sponsors,
African-American business owners like Triad West, and smaller entrepreneurs who came to the marketplace to make deals, grow their businesses, connect with suppliers, and increase their bottom lines.
PowerNetworking Conference 2008 will be held in Atlanta, June 18 through 21. Preliminary plans include such personalities as Iyahala Vanzant, Dr. Myles Munroe, and Senator Barack Obama.
