Step # 1: Ways to be Positively Powerful in Tough Times
by Joel Martin ~ July 6th, 2008. Filed under: Books, Observations, Personal Development.
We have all encountered tough times when coming up with the right decision seems difficult and nearly impossible. The Turtle becomes our hero, pull in those legs and your head and wait until the smoke clears. I don’t think so!
#1 Find someone or a cause to give to.
Giving is not just about your feeling good because you will feel good, it is also a way to empower yourself and to provide "well-being" to others if they receive your gift. (People do have a choice after all to receive your gift or not.) Giving unconditionally is the way. Giving attracts being given to but don’t give so that you will get in return… consciously "giving" because of the notion that what goes around comes around may work…but don’t count on it. Give for the joy of it. In giving you will notice something about your own humanity. You will get off of your own stuff, and the blah de blah of tough times. What you may think are your current difficulties are small change when measured up against the millions of gifts you have to contribute. Giving is positively powerful.
