To Whose Knowledge does a Belief Belong?
When we say we believe something is it because we know that it’s true or is it that we believe that someone else knows that it’s true and we believe them?
From our individual beginning we are a blank canvas for other peoples’ beliefs. The imprinting starts so early that within in a few years what we believe becomes the truth for us and all of our choices and possibilities live inside of this. Most of us understand this yet we are not very successful in busting this up until there is a crisis of some kind, when what we thought and believed shows up as not being very useful at the moment.
Most people still believe that “Breakfast is the Most Important Meal of Day” and that was probably true when it was first said. Beliefs are rooted in someones else’s History.
Why is so difficult to challenge our beliefs? If we understood there origin and the reasons why we learned and believed what it is that we do, we might be able to formulate a new direction for ourselves, with new choices/possibilities.
