Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant

How Do We Live And Love With Our Whole Selves? A Virtual Training With Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant.
Recorded August 27th

A New Way Forward Braintrust Member, Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant tells us that she is “just an ordinary person.” And yet while she loves to do the things that ordinary people do, Iyanla has proven herself to be extraordinary. Her ability to face her own pain and then with uncompromising honesty recount for us how she struggled through a tragedy, found strength after she thought all was lost, triumphed when only failure seemed possible, has healed millions. Much of what she has seen, heard and lived through would have devastated the ordinary person. But despite her experiences—perhaps because of them—Iyanla discovered the power that lies within the soul. She has emerged from the most difficult of times shining, sharing her stories, her discoveries and her love with the world. Iyanla is a renowned trainer, international speaker and publishing force who has written some books, including five New York Times bestsellers. Peace From Broken Pieces, about the end of her marriage and her beloved daughter’s death, is her most recent offering and was featured in a two-part discussion on Oprah last spring.

On this call, with Iyanla as our guide, we delve deeply into our hearts and spirits so that we can be fully open and loving as we embrace our precious young and heal our communities. So many of us walk through the world with gaping wounds, despite the strong, happy masks we put on for the world to see. But we deserve to heal. Our wounds deserve salve. On this call with Iyanla, we considered many questions including

  • How do you bring yourself back from tragedy?
  • How do you come to a loving partnership whole?
  • What is true transformation and how do we make this happen in our lives and for our communities?
  • What do you tell those who are mentoring or getting ready to mentor about healing their own wounds?
