Headlines Often Obscure the Issues – Human Rights
Recently, because of scandals involving powerful political figures, the subjugation and discrimination of women by men has gotten a lot of attention in the media. Unfortunately all the focus has been on the abuser and occasionally some skepticism directed towards the abused. There has been very little focus on why?

Our views on Human Rights has holes in it as we ignore the subtleties in our cultures that are theĀ foundation for abuse, discrimination and other acts that looked to be in contradiction to our aspirations for dignity and respect for all. “We don’t walk the talk”
The conversation that we have about “Human Rights” needs include what goes on in our own backyard and our honestly taking a look at how it is that we treat one another. Human Rights is an individual thing and getting it right at this level just might enable us to change the world.
