Thanks for Staying with Tennis- Wimbledon

Male sport figures who fight through injuries to play the sport that they love are often called “Warriors” or “Heroic”.  Women on the other hand when they suffer an injury and keep going, they are called injured. Being injured or returning from an injury is a more realistic, we don’t really have warriors in sports.

This year at Wimbledon, there were at least four women who showed up to play for no other reason, in our interpretation, than because they love to play Tennis. It is fitting to acknowledge their effort, without the use of overblown war references, and so thanks to Sabine Lisicki, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams and Venus Williams for sharing your joy with us.
