One of the concerns the downturn in the economy has highlighted is that of the
burgeoning need for caregivers and the financial strain placed on homes. A New York Times
article also speaks to an overlooked area of care giving and its long terms effect on children.
AAHSA blog talks about “A 2005 nationwide study found that about 3 percent of households with children ages 8 to 18 included child caregivers. Experts think this number will only grow as people with chronic diseases live longer, forgo paid help and veterans need home care.”
NewAge.org blog explains some of the causes as they see it.
1) Health care has improved so that many will live on in a state of moderate to extreme morbidity deep into their 70s & 80s.
2) The average number of children that individuals are having is decreasing, and larger numbers are choosing “child-free” lifestyles.
3) People are putting off having their children because of the needs of establishing career & financial security in their 20s. Therefore, a significant number of individuals who become ill “early” (e.g., 40s to 60s) will have offspring who are barely adult themselves.
What ever the cause, how and who provides care is an important issue that needs to kept in the forefront.

While we excitedly await the many changes that will be occurring in Washington, and changes in our daily lives, we need to remain ever-diligent about how those changes will affect our Children with learning disabilities and the fulfillment of our child’s IEP in the school.
The election brought many changes and among those was the lack of mill-levy funding to many schools throughout the nation. This will mean inevitable cutbacks on staff and services within the districts, and unfortunately, some of those cuts will happen in many Special Education departments. Many teachers will be forced to add more students to their contact sheets and classrooms, not only regular education kids but special education kids that require services. Some services may be provided by personnel that are not highly trained or qualified, in an effort to cut back on higher paid specialists.
Now is the time for parents to be more aware of what is happening in your child’s school.
* Make sure you request an IEP team meeting to refresh and ensure that all your child’s needs are provided and who is providing those services.
* Hold the school accountable for providing the highest quality goals for your child, not matter what the cost.
* Help the school with creative ways to fund your child’s needs…..maybe an out-sourced provider or specialist that could provide the same services at a reduced rate for the school. Continue reading

You’ve heard it all…”Signs of a weakening economy”… “Raging downward swing”… “Driving Wall Street down in light trading”…”Cascade of devastatingly awful economic news”… “We are living in a time of great challenge, unemployment, hard times…”
So, how are you feeling? Do you feel safe or fearful? Secure or insecure? What are you experiencing physically in your body? Warm or cold? Slight heaviness in your chest region? How’s your self esteem? A little shaky or steady as a rock? What’s the status of your vision, mission, and purpose? Going full steam ahead or on the back burner “until conditions change.”
It’s a heck of a lot easier to feel secure, enlightened, and visionary when things are going good. But I’m in the business of supporting people to feel great and be successful regardless of the circumstances. So here are a few tips for today, for all people in any life status. Take care of yourself! And those around you.
Improve your mood: Watch out for a craving for “comfort foods” like the carbohydrate-rich mashed potatoes, candy bars, buttered pop corn, pizza. These “goodies” can be “baddies” by providing only temporary emotional comfort. They will increase your blood sugar levels for a quick boost but two or three hours after eating these foods, your insulin levels will soar, causing your blood sugar levels to plunge….which leads to a cycle of more depression, stress, and bad mood feelings. Plus the pounds will add up and this is not the time to be overweight. You need to look your best and feel your best! Continue reading

There is so much talk these days when it comes to dealing with the subconscious brain and the how it works in conjunction with the the subconscious mind book in order to work with the intricacies of the universe to bring about those things in our life that we desire for ourselves. Many of us have set out on the goal setting path yet have not been able to make those things come about in our lives that we desire as we have not been able to keep ourselves on track and to pursue to do those things that we know that we should do.
This is specifically where being able to really get to grips with the workings of the subconscious mind really comes into play as we look to get down into the depths of the working of our brains to be able to really understand how we tick and then with this fundamental piece of information we can really start to work on our secrets to success and therefore propel ourselves forward to those high heights that most people simply dream of when it comes to achievement.
To achieve that which we want to achieve takes a certain level of positive thinking exercises and when we go on to survey people we see that this seems to be something that is severely lacking in their lives. Many of us have dreams which will require high levels of positive thinking techniques in order to make the level of achievement and so therefore we really should do what all top performers do and get ourselves a perform coach to help us on our way. This can in fact save us years when it comes to getting to the destination that we wish to get to in terms of our life’s achievement.
I live with using the positive thinking techniques and the how to improve self confidence and feel that we should also consider how much thought awareness plays in actually assisting us to getting where we wish to get to in our lives, take time out to think about how much surety you have in your life as you are looking to move unstoppably forward to achieving that which you want to come about in your life. There are many books on the topic of how to build self confidence that we can read and then use the information within to help us move forward and having, being and doing all that we wish for in our lives.
It is true that many people find the the subconscious mind book to be both simple and complex that some people say that we must only ask and receive. Yet to do that with complete self esteem we must work to restructure our whole way of KEYWORD to do this it is really good to study as much of the concepts we can about the subconscious mind book, positive thinking techniques & how to build self confidence.

French psychologist Alfred Binet, a keen student of human individualities and potentials and the inventor of the first IQ test, considered the concept of fixed intelligence a “brutal pessimism.” He worried that a low IQ score might carry with it an indelible stigma. But others soon sought to use IQ to discriminate and categorize; Henry Goddard, for instance, the father of IQ testing in the United States, privately favored forced sterilization of those he thought of as mental defectives and publicly advocated programs of segregation.
The idea that a person’s relative intelligence was inherent and unchanging soon became conventional wisdom. But in the decades since Goddard championed the testing of immigrants as they landed at Ellis Island, a growing body of research has proven that Binet was right and Goddard was wrong. All kinds of environmental and circumstantial factors determine and modify a person’s intelligence over time.
The research ..

Lets talk about the the subconscious mind : Make no mistake about it – it is our subconscious minds that is the thing that is the manager of our lives and as we learn to really get to grips with our subconscious minds we can readily invoke the law of attraction into our lives; this will bring about all of the things that we cherish in our lives based upon the various areas of life normally divided as physical, spiritual, financial, health, relationships. Many people get confused when referring to the law of attraction and the use of the subconscious mind especially when they are looking to make things happen in their lives. So what can one do when they want to make a change in their lives in order to start to move ahead ?
Make no mistake about it – when we consider best success tips : understanding how to use the law of attraction is something that can really change your life. The reason is that the things that we do as a habit force is actually based on what we do with our subconscious minds. We will see the results in our life in areas of self confidence as well as other ways. So what can we do ? we should begin with goal setting and specifically map out the things that we want to come about in our lives. When we do this then we will literally being to reprogram our inner minds and then we will being to do those things as a matter of habit that will take us closer to our goals.
Of course we will need to develop a certain amount of self confidence and self determination as, along with the programming of our minds, we really will need to be acting and walking as well as talking the way that we need to in order to become the type of person that we need to in order to achieve our dreams. Note that it is vitally grave to make sure that we grow into the person that we need to be before, we accomplish the actual results in our lives.
making speeches matters as well : When it comes down to it, we will all be happy when we see that we have improved levels of self confidence as well as higher levels of personal and self determination which we can readily use as a platform to move forward in our lives. It is well worth us taking time out to work on our being as we will see the results in our lives come around in many different ways – sometimes in ways that we didn’t think possible.

Individuals with Asperger and Autism, or AS, are at the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. Patients with this disorder show impairment in social behavior and motor skills and are also marked by clumsiness. Because it can resemble other forms of autism, it can sometimes be misdiagnosed. While the treatments can be similar, it is important to get a correct diagnosis as there are certain individual treatments that are added for individual patients. Find a Special Education Advocate to help you.
Hans Asperger, an Austrian pediatrician, was the first to pinpoint the disorder in 1944, when he described his patients as failing to demonstrate empathy, as well as lacking nonverbal communication skills. It wasn’t until 50 years later that this syndrome was finally recognized and classified as an actual disorder. Today, there are still many questions about the autistic disorder-like impairment. There has long been doubt about the differences in high functioning autistic individuals and those that have AS.
Many physicians use individual treatment plans, depending on the age of the individual, to help manage the lives of those who have Asperger syndrome. The plans vary depending on the development and functioning of the person and can be changed as the person progresses in development. Treatments for AS are very similar to those used to treat highly functioning patients with autism.
Asperger syndrome is one of many disorders that fall within the autism spectrum. There have been many studies and much research done to try and find out more about this disorder. While a lot of information has been discovered, there is still much more to learn. Experts understand some of the reasons why individuals may have this disorder but, as with other disorders, such as autism, not all of the answers have been found. Much has been discovered to help those afflicted to increase their social skills and to stop repetitive behavior skills. Helping individuals to increase these skills allows them to live a more prosperous lifestyle and have a more productive future. Get Individual Education Plan Support today.
