Meet the woman who created WOWOB, the new platform for women business owners.
WOWOB is the new social media platform for Woman Owned Woman Operated Businesses. There are more than 9.4 million firms owned by them, employing 7.9+ million people, and generating $1.5 trillion in sales as of 2015. These women-owned firms (51% or more ownership) account for 31% of all privately held firms and contribute 14% of employment and 12% of revenues. Over the past seven years, the overall increase of 8.3 million (net) new jobs is comprised of a 9.2 million increase in employment in large, publicly traded corporations, combined with an 893,000 decline in employment among smaller, privately held companies (Source: nawbo.org)
Now there is a platform for woman business owners and those who believe in them. WOWOB is the brainchild of Jackie Wszalek, Owner of Splash Printing & Marketing and WOWOB Founder. For her outrageous determination to have all women win, she has been selected to receive the 2017 Positively Powerful Woman Entrepreneur Leadership Award. Jackie and four other Positively Powerful Woman “Change Makers in Technology, Education & Business” will receive their accolades at the Saturday evening June 10, 2017, during the 10th Annual Gala Celebration.
Jackie served as the past president of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction), president of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), and the board president of Scottsdale Prevention Institute. She is the winner of NAWBO Corporate Partner of the Year, NAWBO Woman Business Owner of the Year, and the Scottsdale Chamber Micro Business Sterling Award.
Jackie is most notably known for her dedicated and consistent commitment to advancing women-owned and operated business ventures across the country. She believes that women’s success is critical to a community’s success and clearly stops at nothing to achieve it. It is for this reason that she founded WOWOB.
